Overview

Upgrading an existing legacy control or surveillance system to a new IP-based system is a complicated task, especially when existing cable infrastructure is old copper or twisted pair cable. EtherWAN's Ethernet extenders provide Ethernet connection and extension over these existing copper wire cables, minimizing the expense of constructing new cable infrastructure.

Whenever long-distance Ethernet connectivity is in demand, EtherWAN Ethernet extenders allow legacy infrastructure to be leveraged for IP networks, extending the copper distance of Ethernet beyond the limitation of 100 meters.

To continue with the 1st generation success from the ED3101 and ED3141 series, the new generation, ED3501 and ED3541 series, offers longer distance and higher bandwidth to help the infrastructure migrate into IP range without technical compromise. ED3501 Industrial 10/100BASE-TX Ethernet Extender

EtherWAN's ED3501 Series provides better performance in data rate/distance ratio than ED3101, utilizing a RJ11 or Terminal Block copper pair connection for network extension.

The ED3501's designed to endure high shock, vibration, and electrical noise immunity, with a wide operating temperature ranged from -10°C to 60°C and ruggedized aluminum housing.

Key features include:

  • Auto-detection of Local/Remote selection to save installation time.
  • Supports manual configuration of Local/Remote to fulfill special requiremens.
  • Provides Symmetric and Asymmetric modes to fulfill different applications according to different downstream/upstream communication requirements.
  • Provides Standard and Performance modes to adjust signal to noise ratio (SNR) value according to user's line quality.
  • Excellent data rate up to 100Mbps at 300-meter point-to-point distance, providing better performance based on VDSL2-like technology.
  • Compliant to CE, FCC, VCCI, UL60950-1, IEC60950-1 and RoHS standards.
  • Supports multiple-unit installation with EMC400 or EMC1600 chassis.
 

ED3541 Hardened 10/100BASE-TX Ethernet Extender

EtherWAN's ED3541 Series provides better performance in data rate/distance ratio than ED3141, utilizing a RJ11 or Terminal Block copper pair connection for network extension.

The ED3541 is designed to endure in high shock, vibration, and electrical noise immunity, with a wide operating temperature ranged from -40°C to 75°C and ruggedized aluminum housing. It is the ideal Ethernet extender for environments where connectivity is crucial.

Key features include:

  • Auto-detection of Local/Remote selection to save installation time.
  • Link-Down-Relay (LDR) function to inform link loss to the other side.
  • Provides Standard and Performance modes to adjust signal to noise ratio (SNR) value according to user's line quality.
  • Excellent data rate up to 100Mbps at 300-meter point-to-point distance, providing better performance based on VDSL2-like technology.
  • Wide operating temperature ranged from -40°C to 75°C, perfect for outdoor cabinet installations.
