Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology allows for the transfer of electrical power and data along the same Ethernet cable to remote devices. This simplifies design and implementation of networks that use many VOIP phones or surveillance devices. These PoE Industrial Ethernet switches come in rack-mount and desktop form factors, and in managed, unmanaged and web smart categories. Both IEEE802.3af and IEEE802.3at options are available, for the delivery of 30 or 60 watts, respectively.
